And we have not got to allow....

I don't know where to start. I'm not sure when knowing how to talk in complete sentences became a liability. I can't figure out how anyone could watch that debate and not wonder what the hell McCain was thinking. I don't know if the media is just beaten down and afraid to state the obvious or if this strategy of lowering expectations actually worked on these bozos. Imagine if we applied the Palin standard to our sports teams. Wow, Andy Petitte did't bean anyone today. Woo hoo!!! Lets give him a Cy Young award.

Oy! McCain may be a Maverick, but Palin's a Pinto.

Ohh, yaah, you betcha! A VP candidate that sounds like she stepped right out of "Fargo."
Plus, all this crap about how "Main Street" will react drives me nuts. Main Streets in most towns are long dead, unless their oriented to tourists or visitors.
They should say "in BigBoxland," and call the residents Walmartians. That's way more accurate.
The pictures of Vicky's party, sadly probably ended up in a landfill somewhere. I was so oblivious to drugs at the time or I would have gotten a closeup of a mini Mount Snow.
The computer is going to be "cleansed" as they say. It is constantly being bombarded by fake services offering to clean it themselves, but then don't do anything. Call me sucker. Hence the computer will be out of service for a few days.

I don't know where to begin in posting. Let's see . . .

I believe that talking in complete sentences became a liability on or about November 3 (whatever it was), 2000 when "shrub" was elected. That's when we found out that people wanted a so-called regular guy over someone with substance and knowledge.

What were they thinking? Just look at what that wind-up Barbie is doing now! They wanted someone who could survive a debate (answering the questions she wanted to answer and not the questions asked) and then go on the offense, in a really ugly way. (Really, look at it!)

Is the media beaten down, or afraid, or is it something more sinister? Definitely someting more sinister. Whether they are beaten down or afraid, they feel like they are cornered, and are not about to call this thing like it should be. (Too bad for us, since unless we are doing our homework, that shit looks appealing).

Can't even go near your sports metaphor, since I could not do better. Unless it would be . . . no, I can't do any better than that.

As for Tourguide, let me just say that I am leaving the last half of his comments for others to figure out (and embrace if they choose). As for the first half, I admire his pointing out that for the most part, we are talking about "BigBoxland" rather than Main Street (with some exceptions), but after that, I leave him to his rants.

One other observation: If you are really pissed off about this, I advise you to talk directly to someone IN A SWING STATE. All of us, doing our thing, in decidedly red states, are not going to make a difference. Aside from the occasional comment on a blog (as here), I am concentrating my political energy on probable voters in states that might be in play. So drag out your rolodex, and call, type, text, or whatever! Just make your voice heard!

That said, keep rambling, Rambler. We love it!

I forgot to add this: as you might or might not know, my family had a Ford Pinto. 1974 wagon, in lovely Dartmouth green. We bought it at great discount to the dealer (it was a demo) and had lots of problems with it. Heavy-ass long doors didn't work (sound familiar to any other Detroit denizens?) and Mom was always afraid on the highway due to those pesky rear-end collision studies. Finally unloaded it to a family that ended up using it for far less time and miles than we did. So, showed us!

Does that mean that McCain has to trade her in now, or will that be up to us? (And thanks for the comparison; I actually had to think about which was the more desirable car back then. OK, not really!!!)

Buy American (Hawaiian/Delawarian via PA)) -- vote Obama/Biden.
